December is a month where we try and remember that we need to think outside of ourselves. It's a month to remember that there are those out there in need of support in many different ways and hopefully a way to help us find a way to "pay-it-forward".
Project Harmony is an organization that states, " Every child deserves to grow up safe, happy and healthy. We’re boldly focused on ending the cycle of child abuse and neglect in our community." This bold statement holds a very close place to my heart and I hoped to ignite some passion in the students of heARTeffect to help these children/youth.
The "how" was next, but thankfully Project Harmony made it easy by providing their Wish List.
A few weeks back, I spoke with our students and asked if they would like to join me in helping this organization and they LEAPED at the opportunity. As a leader of this group of teens and pre-teens, my heart exploded with joy and pride at their massive willingness to serve.
We met December 1st for our "service project" day and here's what we ended the day with:

What you're seeing is ten "calming bottles" and 27 stress balls.
I was so thrilled to be a part of this little project and even more joy-filled while watching the students assemble these and giggle and laugh while doing so. They were proud of what they created and proud to be a part of something bigger then themselves.
This wraps up 2019 for heARTeffect and I couldn't be more excited about what 2020 is going to bring!
God Bless!
